Welcome to my website. I am the founder, former Chairman and CEO of Ebookers.com, one of Europe’s most successful
internet travel agencies.

I am also the founder of the Copper Beech Group, a company which manages investments in
sustainable education,
ecotourism and property.

1950

Born in Australia in 1950 and the son of an Indian Diplomat, I completed an MA in law at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge University in 1974.

1980

I worked for various companies including IBM, and in 1980, my wife Tani and I noticed a spike in sales of airline tickets and we started Dabin Travel, a business selling travel tickets from a tiny kiosk at Earl's Court tube station.

1983

This business was so successful that in 1983 I founded Flightbookers Ltd and also became the General Sales Agent for four airlines in the UK and Europe. Flightbookers was the first travel agent to launch an interactive travel website in the UK. By this time, Flightbookers was the 10th largest leisure agent in the UK and employed 235 people.

1999

Flightbookers internet division was so successful that in 1999 it was separated to form Ebookers.com and the new company taken public with a flotation on the Nasdaq in New York and Germany's Neuer Markt. I went on to make 11 corporate acquisitions in Europe in seven months.

2005

Based in 12 countries, Ebookers became one of the largest travel agencies in Europe. Sales went from $23 million in 1999 to $1 billion in 2004. I also had a 1000-person business-process outsourcing (BPO) operation in India, engaged in 12 disciplines including ticketing and sales. I sold Ebookers in 2005 for $471m from an initial investment of $5m in 1999.

2006

In 2006 I graduated from the President’s Programme in Leadership at Harvard Business School. I am also an alumnus of IMD in Lausanne. In addition, I am an active member of the World Presidents Organisation (WPO) and the Chief Executive Organisation (CEO).

Today

Currently, I direct sustainable projects in India and Romania, am a key-note speaker on entrepreneurship and play an active role in charities in the UK and around the world.
